Help! My Room Has Issues! Decorating Help For Mastering A Challenging Room
Can I start a home base cake decorating business using a recipe I didn’t make?
I would really like to start baking cakes. People tell me my cakes are to die for and I decorate them so pretty but the cakes from a recipe that is in a cookbook . I don’t want to get into trouble…so my question is "can I start a home business Decorating cakes with recipes that i didn’t make up?
You cannot patent recipes. You can however infringe on the intellectual copyrights of the recipe. Ingredients cannot be copywrited…only the process or instructions. Avoid this by (A) not giving the recipe out and/or (B) changing the wording of the instructions. I would be more worried about having a home-based baking business without going through the proper health code channels. That wuill certainly get you in more trouble than thinking that someone will taste your cake and say…I KNOW WHERE THIS RECIPE CAME FROM!! Tell people your recipe is a secret.

What are some decorating ideas for a 9 year old boys room?
We just moved and are looking for a new fun way to decorate his room. It is his first time having his own room he had to share with his sister up until now. So this is new and exciting for him! Its hard because there are far less boys room Decorating options out there. We dont want a charcter theme, he is "too old" for that.
Thanks in advance for your ideas they are highly appreciated!
Get some plywood, some upholstery vinyl fabric ( I like the carbon fiber one), some carpet cushioning and cover one wall with squares of upholstered plywood. Looks very nice. Also Get a small dead tree with the roots if possible and paint it flat black. Looks surreal and nice. Also some kind of posters such as a movie poster or posters with sick cars in them. I like the Dub magazine posters. TiS. That’s how my room is and I get a lot of complements!!! Well, except for the gargoyles!!!

What are some trendy ideas for decorating a teenagers bedroom?
I’m 14 years young. I have a ton of posters on my wall, but they cover up just my ceiling, and one of my walls. I want some ideas for Decorating, that wont require me to go shopping for a bunch of different items. I have art supplies, such as, Crayons, Markers, Glue, ECT.
Any ideas?
No bad comments please.
Thanks!
firstly, you can use your art supplies to create your own pictures – you can make them simple or complex depending on your skills. draw whatever you like, or make it a composite landscape with trees, flowers, birds, clouds, bees, sun, etc. etc.
Or make a seascape or a night scene with moon, owls, bats, witches on brooms, etc.
you can even cut & paste to create a collage of either your own drawings or of pix from old magazines, etc.
if you have a stack of discardable CDs, use them to make a mosaic of picture frames, or a sun/dream-catcher, mobile hanging from ceiling to floor level almost [use CDs, bells, other trinkets to make chimes too] ……
or even a CD"curtain" strung through with ribbons or beads.
if you have spare beads, string them to make curtains or just hang them in attractive ways on the wall or just loosely from the ceiling, etc.
if you have enough old scarves, drape them on one wall. you can also use old bedsheets, etc. cut into strips or just draped/festooned.
collect glossy paper from old magazines & fold & cut into flowers & leaves & snowflakes & tape to walls [tape only the center & leave the petals loose to give it a fairly realistic & 3-D effect].
you could also use potpourri flowers & herbs to decorate.
if you enjoy drawing, add a board [any type] & draw a new sketch/painting everyday on it. it’ll hone your skills, as well as give your room a new look daily!
or use the board to write a thought for the day, a quotation, a joke, a quip, to stick post-its, messages, etc.
or hang a huge mirror on one wall. you can use one corner/side as a message board.
hope these help you get started
all the best & have fun

What are ideas for decorating, raffles/prizes, gift bags for pampering party?
I work at a salon and for mother’s day we are planning a pampering party for some women of a battered women’s shelter. I need ideas for Decorating the salon and/or prizes, gift bags, etc…
I would fix up gift bags with beauty related products. Do you sell nail polish at the salon? Maybe put 1 in each giftbag, if you don’t sell nailpolish, Sally’s Hair Supply or Wal-greens has mini nailpolishes you can purchase for $1. You could goto a local department store that sells perfume and see if they have some samples of the perfume to give you, I’d tell them what it is for so they might give you several. Fingernail files, loofa’s, etc. could be placed in the bags. Check your local Dollar Store, alot of times you can buy the loofa’s, bath mits, smaller sizes of lotions , and other beauty products there. Do you know a local Avon agent or Mary Kay rep? If so maybe you can tell them what you are doing and offer to buy a few of their samples for the gift bags. I know the samples cost them and if you offer to buy a few they may be willing to let you purchase some. For another prize, you could also offer a free facial, haircut, or etc to your salon to be used at a later date.

What is the best way to get into cake decorating as a career/business?
I would like to know how to get into cake Decorating as a career/business? What type of training should I get? What is the earning potential? Is this a good business?
You could approach a cake decorating shop in your area or a bakery which specialises in this type of product. Attend a course at college or night school. You could advertise once you have trained and then do it as a side line to earn a bit extra until it takes off fully, You could advertise once you feel confident enough. Good Luck!
